The 0102 Sofa started as a custom order from an illustrator in Brooklyn.

She'd been shopping for three months. She wanted a clean square-arm three-seater for her front window-something she could settle into after long drawing days, and that would hold its shape year after year.

She found almost the exact same silhouette at a heritage luxury brand, for $8,485. The cushions felt soft enough that she knew they'd sag within a year. It didn't seem worth the label.

We went through three rounds of adjustments together:

Seat depth bumped from 24" to 26", to fit her 5'9" frame.
Arms narrowed by an inch, so her existing side tables wouldn't feel crowded.
Cushion core set to medium-firm, with a thin down topper for give without sag.

Built on our standard kiln-dried hardwood frame, upholstered in the mid-weight linen she picked.

Final price: $5,218.

We added this exact configuration to our standard line six months later.The proportions proved to work for most households — not too deep, not too shallow, arms wide enough for a mug but narrow enough for most side tables. We kept getting requests for the same spec, so we formalized it.
