Spring Systems
Comfort starts with the structure you never see.
Pocket Coil Springs
- Material
- 72B high-carbon manganese steel wire, quenched and tempered for superior elasticity and fatigue resistance.
- Specifications
- 2.0-2.4mm wire diameter, 10-15cm spring height, and minimum 36 springs per seat cushion.
- Construction
- Each spring is individually encased in non-woven fabric, bonded in point pattern, with minimum 60% spring coverage across the seat.
- Benefits
- Independent movement with no transfer of motion, silent operation, and even support that conforms to body contours.
- Durability
- ≤3% permanent set after 100,000 compression cycles, per ASTM F1566.
Sinuous Springs
- Material
- 4.0mm high-manganese steel zig-zag springs with electrophoretic rust-resistant coating.
- Installation
- Maximum 8cm horizontal spacing, secured to the wood frame with metal clips at both ends.
- Reinforcement
- Reinforced with 2-3 horizontal tie wires to form a unified load-bearing grid and help prevent spring shift.
- Ideal Use
- Back and armrest support, plus economy sofa seat support where a resilient spring platform is required.
- Durability
- ≤5% arc deformation after 50,000 compression cycles.
Note: Final spring specification should be matched to seat depth, cushion stack, frame construction, load target, and the intended upholstery application.
Foam Layer System
Layered gradient design balances support and comfort.
Layer
Standard
Purpose
Base Support Foam
≥45 kg/m³ high-density firm foam with ≥60% resilience rating.
Provides the foundation support layer and helps prevent long-term seat sagging.
Middle Transition Foam
≥35 kg/m³ medium-soft foam.
Distributes pressure between the support base and the top comfort layer.
Top Comfort Foam
≥30 kg/m³ soft or memory foam.
Creates a gentler first contact and a softer sit-down feel.
Compression Set
≤5% compression set under specified testing.
Exceeds the common ≤10% baseline and reduces irreversible sagging from extended daily use.
Environmental Safety
Formaldehyde-free and heavy-metal-free foam specification.
CAL TB 117-2020 compliant constructions can be specified without added chemical flame retardants where required.
Note: Final foam specification should be matched to seat depth, cushion cover, spring platform, target firmness, usage intensity, and applicable batch documentation.
Auxiliary Support Components
- Base deck: 15mm thick CARB Phase 2 solid wood plywood, fully decked for even load distribution and silent operation.
- Elastic webbing: High-tension elastic webbing in crisscross grid pattern on back and armrests, provides flexible support and enhanced back comfort
