Cutting Process
Fabric Inspection
Pattern & Precision Cutting
Stage
Standard
Control Point
Fabric Inspection & Relaxation
Fabric is checked by batch for shade variation, defects, directional grain, pile direction, and stretch behavior. Fabric is relaxed before cutting; pre-shrinking or stabilization is applied where construction requires it.
No cutting starts until color lot, face side, grain direction, and shrinkage risk are confirmed.
Pattern Layout & Matching
Layouts are planned by computer or production template to keep grain direction, pile direction, pattern repeat, and color continuity consistent across one piece.
Matched panels, cushions, arms, and visible fronts are cut from the same approved roll or color lot where required.
Precision Cutting
Fabric is cut by automatic cutter, straight knife, rotary cutter, or manual template depending on fabric type and order size.
Target cut-piece tolerance is ≤1 mm, with clean edges, no fraying, and no distortion.
Seam Allowance & Tracking
Each piece includes controlled seam allowance, notches, alignment marks, and part labels.
Cut pieces are numbered and bundled in matched sets to prevent mix-up across batches, color lots, and directional fabrics.
Note: Final cutting approval depends on fabric type, backing, stretch, pile direction, pattern repeat, color lot, cushion shape, and the intended upholstery application.
Sewing Process
Stitch Setup
Seam & Zipper QC
Stage
Standard
Control Point
Stitch Setup
Needle size, thread type, stitch density, and machine tension are selected by fabric weight, weave, backing, and stretch behavior.
Standard upholstery seams use consistent straight stitching with no skipped stitches, loose threads, thread breakage, or fabric puckering.
Load-Bearing Seams
Seat, back, arm, and high-tension seams use reinforced stitching where needed, including double-stitched lockstitch, topstitching, seam tape, or reinforced seam allowance depending on construction.
Stress seams are checked for clean stitch formation, secure back-tacking, and no seam separation under normal handling.
Piping & Detail Alignment
Piping diameter stays consistent, corners are smooth and rounded, and decorative seams align symmetrically across cushions, arms, and panels.
No twisted piping, uneven topstitching, misaligned panels, or distorted cushion shape.
Zippers & Sewing QC
Zippers are installed flat and smooth, with clean reverse-side finishing and trimmed loose threads.
No zipper catching, misalignment, skipped stitches, loose thread buildup, uneven seam allowance, or visible fabric distortion.
Note: Final sewing approval depends on fabric weight, weave, backing, stretch, needle and thread setup, seam location, cushion shape, and the intended upholstery use.
