A Letter from Our Founder

Chair frame under construction at TRUESTCO factory

Our strength is making furniture.

We’ve never been particularly good at telling brand stories or selling a lifestyle. Our strength is making furniture.

We’re a team based in Shenzhen, China. We started this company because we believe the manufacturing capabilities around us can give people something they rarely get when buying furniture: the freedom to have a piece made properly, to their own requirements, at a fair price—even when they’re ordering just one.

One piece is enough.

The process starts with something you already like. Send us a product link, or screenshots showing the product’s name, price, dimensions, and materials. We use that information to understand the piece, match it with a suitable factory, and work through what you want to keep or change.

That can go much further than choosing a fabric and color. You may want softer seat cushions and firmer back cushions. You may want each cushion to feel a little different. You may need the width, height, or seat depth adjusted to suit your body or the way you like to sit. We can work through those details with you, one by one.

You don’t need to place a large order to get that level of attention. One piece is enough.

A place built for making.

Our ability to do this comes from where we are and the people we work with.

Shenzhen is part of the Greater Bay Area, alongside major furniture manufacturing centers such as Foshan, Dongguan, Huizhou, and Guangzhou. Across this region, factories operate close to material suppliers, component makers, specialist workshops, and experienced craftspeople. A factory can often find much of what it needs nearby.

That proximity makes a practical difference. Materials are easier to source. Questions can be resolved quickly. Changes are easier to coordinate. It keeps production efficient and makes detailed customization possible at a scale that would otherwise be difficult to offer.

Materials & workmanship

The people behind each piece.

It also means we work with people who have spent years making furniture, solving production problems, and refining their craft. Their experience is one of our greatest advantages.

Our approach to quality is straightforward. The materials and construction disclosed in your reference product set the standard we aim to meet or exceed. Where an important specification is missing, we fill that gap with a high-quality choice and explain what we’re using. For sofa foam, for example, that may mean a premium 45D foam, selected to suit the cushion’s intended comfort and use.

We take workmanship just as seriously. A good specification still needs skilled hands to turn it into a good piece of furniture. We trust our craftspeople because of the work they have done and the experience they bring to each piece.

We also want to be clear about price.

We’re not promising the lowest price you can find. Good materials, careful construction, and skilled labor all have a cost. There is a point below which a lower price means giving something up, and we have no interest in building our business around that compromise.

Our advantage comes from an established supply chain, competitive manufacturing costs, and efficient production. Those advantages allow us to offer a lower price for comparable quality—or better materials and more considered workmanship within the same budget.

There are trade-offs, and you deserve to understand them.

We are based in China, and we’re open about it. We know that people bring different experiences and assumptions to the words “Made in China.” We hope you’ll judge us by the materials we specify, the work we deliver, and how we treat you throughout the process.

Distance is a practical challenge, too. Making a piece to your requirements takes time. Getting it across the Pacific takes more. Some complex orders can take eight weeks to reach you. We’ll be honest about the expected timeline, and we know it’s our responsibility to deliver something worth waiting for.

Then there is trust. For many customers, this will be an unfamiliar way to buy furniture, from a company they haven’t worked with before. We understand the questions that come with that. It’s our job to answer them clearly and earn your confidence as the work progresses.

What we hope to offer is simple: furniture you love, made around your needs, with materials and workmanship you can understand, at a price you can make sense of.

That’s the business we’re building. And making furniture is how we intend to earn your trust.
