FINISHING APPLICATION STANDARD

Every finish is built in layers, controlled for surface clarity, durability, and long-term color stability.

SURFACE & BASE PREPARATION

A clean, stable base decides how the finish looks, bonds, and ages.

Surface Preparation
All wood surfaces are progressively sanded from 180 → 240 → 320 grit to remove burrs, open sanding marks, raised fiber, and surface contamination.
Edges and corners are lightly eased before finishing to reduce sharp contact points and improve coating adhesion.
Moisture & Dust Check
Moisture content is re-checked before finishing. Surfaces are vacuumed and wiped clean so no dust, loose fiber, oil, or sanding residue remains under the finish.
Finishing does not begin until the surface is dry, clean, and stable enough for even coating absorption.
Color & Sample Approval
Stain, sheen, and finish direction are matched against the approved production sample before batch application.
For visible panels, color consistency is checked under controlled lighting before topcoat begins.
Sealer Coat
A compatible sanding sealer is applied first to stabilize absorption, lock down raised grain, and prepare an even base.
After drying, the surface is sanded with fine grit, typically 400 grit, until smooth and uniform.

Note: Surface preparation is adjusted by wood species, grain openness, moisture condition, selected stain, and the approved finish sample.

TOPCOAT & FINAL INSPECTION

Every coat is controlled for even coverage, proper curing, and a clean final hand feel.

Grain Filling / Build Coats
Open-grain woods may receive pore filler or build coats where a smoother finish is required. Build coats are applied in 2-3 controlled layers.
Fine sanding between coats creates a flat, clean base with no visible pore collapse, heavy buildup, or uneven absorption.
Topcoat Application
Topcoat is sprayed or applied in a temperature-controlled, dust-reduced finishing area.
Film thickness is kept even across edges, corners, and broad surfaces, with no runs, pinholes, orange peel, heavy buildup, or dry spray.
Controlled Curing
Finished parts are cured for at least 48 hours, or longer where the finish system requires it.
Parts are not stacked, wrapped, or assembled until the coating has developed sufficient surface hardness.
Final Inspection
Each finished piece is checked for color match, sheen consistency, adhesion, smooth hand feel, edge coverage, and visible defects.
Pieces with scratches, uneven gloss, dust inclusions, bubbles, runs, or weak adhesion are reworked before approval.

Dark warm metal tone with subtle worn highlights and brown-black depth.
Traditional pulls, dark wood accents, sculptural hardware, and heritage-style fittings.
Edge highlights and tonal depth should remain balanced across the hardware set.
Patinated bronze hardware finish sample

Architectural oxidation effect with green-brown tonal movement.
Decorative pulls, statement accents, and premium aged metal details.
Touch surfaces should be clean, stable, and sealed where residue control is required.
PVD champagne brass hardware finish sample

Thin vapor-deposited color layer with stronger color stability than basic decorative plating.
High-touch premium handles, champagne brass, bronze tone, black, and gold-tone details.
Adhesion, color consistency, and edge wear behavior are reviewed before approval.

Cool silver tone with directional satin grain and lower glare.
Visible legs, pulls, brackets, tracks, and contemporary metal accents.
No obvious haze, sharp burrs, cross-scratches, or spotty reflection on visible faces.
Satin aluminum hardware finish sample

Lightweight silver tone with brushed, satin, anodized, or powder-coated finish options.

Edges and holes should be clean, smooth, and free of burrs before final finishing.
Black powder coated steel hardware finish sample

Matte or satin black protective coating over steel or aluminum parts.
Brackets, legs, supports, exposed black hardware, and high-contact metal parts.
Coating must be even, chip-resistant, and free of peeling, bare spots, or heavy orange peel.
